Men's Breakfast Devotional
Starting on Saturday, October 24 at 8 AM, the men of HBC Gurnee will be getting together to fellowship together through the study of God's Word, discussion, and prayer. Picture these breakfasts as a opportunity to get to know better the other guys in the church, to buld stronger Christian friendships, to be challendged in your personal walk with Christ, and most importantly to grow in righteousness, which is God's will for our lives (1 Thessalonians 4:2).
I am excited to be introducint a new series,
The Measure of a Man. The men's breakfasts will be focused on the book
The Measure of a Man, written by Gene A. Gietz, which outlines twenty biblical attributes of a Godly man based on Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-10). Every month, we will focus our attention on a chapter in the book, and an attribute, to see what God's word has to reveal about how he wants us to live our lives. Purchase of the book is not necessary, and although the breakfast will follow a book, each meeting will be an independent lesson. Therefore, missing a week does not mean that you cannot participate in the future meetings, and new guys are always welcome and encouraged to come.
I pray that in these meetings, God would challenge our hearts and grow us into the men he desires us to be: leaders of our families, leaders in the church, men who glorify God with all aspects of our lives.
